*NEW* - Applications to your home department (see below) are now processed online. Please indicate on your home department online application form, under Collaborative Programs, that you are also applying to Asia Pacific Studies.
Students wishing to be admitted to the collaborative program must apply online to one of the home departments listed below. Applicants are not required to send a supplementary application package to our office, except for those who are not applying through the SGS online application (for Rotman Management and Social Work applicants, see instructions below). Students who would like to submit supplementary materials to the Asia-Pacific Studies program office (such as a statement of interest or reference letters that are different from those submitted to the home department) may send them to the program administrator at the address below.
The deadline for application to the Collaborative Master's Program in Asia-Pacific Studies is February 1, 2012.
Home departments have their own application deadlines. For specific information please check the home department web site or contact the Graduate Administrator.
Applicants should select a home department based on academic interests and background preparation. In your application to the home department, please indicate that you are also applying to the Collaborative Master's Program in Asia-Pacific Studies. In most circumstances, applicants should have taken the equivalent of 4 full-year courses with substantial Asia coverage. In special circumstances this requirement can be waived based on substantial working or living experience in East or Southeast Asia. Admission to our collaborative program requires that you are accepted by both a home department and by the Collaborative Master's Program in Asia-Pacific Studies.
If you are applying through the Rotman School of Management or the School of Social Work, please send us a supplementary application package including a photocopy of the application submitted to the home department, a curriculum vitae, a statement of interest, transcripts (sealed and signed), and at least two letters of reference (also sealed and signed) with specific information regarding your background in Asia-Pacific studies and relevant experiences in the region. Please note that recommendation letters sent to the Program Administrator via email cannot be accepted.
The participating graduate departments are:
* Anthropology * East Asian Studies * Economics * Geography * History * Management * Planning * Political Science * Public Policy & Governance * Social Work * Sociology * Women and Gender Studies
Please send the supplementary application package to:
